Taylor Williams, winner of the 2019 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of the Year Award, talks with Scott Cam about the self-belief and courage she built through her VET pathway.

In 2017, Taylor started the Australian Public Service Indigenous Apprenticeship Programme with the Department of Defence, graduating 12 months later with a Diploma in Government and a full-time job. Taylor has now become the first person in her family to attend university, a milestone she is proud to have achieved.
