The Bible is full of weird sayings, one of which is the command to "put off your old self" and "put on your new self." God's call to return to Him has existed since ancient times, throughout all of the Old and New Testaments. It's a call that we still hear in our lives, too, with the promise that God will not turn His face from those who return to Him. Yet it can be difficult to overcome old habits or family histories, and we are constantly tempted to stay in our fallen ways. How can we return to God when so much seems to stand in our way?
