It was an honor to accompany Mr. Hicks for a short portion of his TCAPS journey and it's truly our pleasure to have him on the pod before he draw's this journey to its close. We are blessed to have him share his 30+ years of EdTech wisdom on the Pod.
And again, we'd like to apologize for the poor audio, we have our best people on it...well maybe not our best.

TCAPSLoops Moment of Zen
A little consideration, A little thought for others, makes all the difference. - A.A. Milne
Turns out Social Media isn’t all bad. I was browsing through teacher twitter a few weeks ago and came across a great tool shared by our #edtech hero, Liz Kolb concerning student privacy and immediately thought this would be a great pod topic. Not surprisingly Danelle and Stephie saw it too and had started scripting out a one act play based on the chart. Sadly, Stephie and Danelle were not quite prepared to share the trailer for the their new production but they do share thoughts on student privacy and copyright in the classroom.

Happiness is a direction. Not a place. - Sydney J. Harris
We continually return to the fact that this has been an unprecedented year in education. One thing it has forced us to do is re-evaluate not only the platforms we use to educate but how we, as educators approach our work and life to create a safe and healthy environment for our kiddos so that they can be successful students and people. In our school district this has led to some deeper investigation on what it means to be successful. To that end our leadership teams and school community have adopted the #PositivelyTCAPS mantra and a book study into Shawn Anchor's bestselling book, "The Happiness Advantage."

Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose. - Yoda
We’ve mentioned several times recently that our District has adopted a Learning Management System (LMS). Though much of the discussion with Andy is specific to Brightspace D2L I believe there are many nuggets of wisdom shared by a habitual early adopter of edtech. I hope you enjoy the conversation.

You don't have to worry about burning bridges, if you're building your own. - Kerry E. Wagner
I recently saw a tweet celebrating the first day of March 2021 and a reply stated it’s more like the 366th day of March 2020. Needless to say there has been a great deal of change over the past year and a great deal more has been asked of educators to adapt to those changes. Andy has joined us to help share and celebrate the different ways teachers have embraced change and increased their own learning.
