Michelle Guillermin is a wildlife and nature photographer who engages the viewer in both the grandeur of and the danger to wildlife. Her use of stark, gritty black and white is intended to bridge time, to push viewers to imagine a world when wildlife was plentiful. Her goal is to build awareness of the challenges facing our natural world through the appreciation of the few remaining creatures. Her initial career in finances has provided her the foundation from which she has a secondary career as a photographer. Without completely leaving her financial work, she has successfully created a photographic life that has taken her around the world. Some of her work, particularly those of African elephants, is helping to create greater awareness of the plight faced by these great animals.
