On Monday, there will be a seismic shift in horse racing. That's when the Horse Racing Integrity and Safety Authority will launch its Anti-Doping and Medication Control program and, in most states, will take over the responsibilities of drug testing and drug adjudications. With that date right around the corner, the TDN Writers' Room podcast presented by Keeneland brought in HISA's CEO Lisa Lazarus to give an update on what to expect once HISA takes over. Lazarus was this week's Green Group Guest of the Week.

On a weekend when we temporarily suspend our search for the adolescent Thoroughbred maturing sufficiently to beat his peers on the first Saturday in May, let's celebrate the fulfilments that remain available later in life–whether on two legs or four.

It's been a memorable few months for trainer-turned-jockey-agent Kiaran McLaughlin, who joined in as guest on this week's TDN Writers' Room. He's been nominated to the Hall of Fame for the first time and, as the agent for Luis Saez, has his client lined up with many of the top horses in the sport.

We had the Forte (Violence) bit last week. Now for the piano. The champion juvenile resumed his sonata in virtuoso fashion, reprising themes established in its first movement with familiar verve.

Mike Repole, the co-owner of champion and recent GII Fountain of Youth S. winner Forte, was effusive in his praise for the Kentucky Derby hopeful on this week's TDN Writers' Room.

Jack Wolf joined this edition of the TDN Writers' Room to discuss Starlight Racing's 3-year-olds pointing toward the Kentucky Derby. The Writers' Room is sponsored by Keeneland, the Green Group, Coolmore, WinStar, the PHBA, Lane's End, XBTV, and West Point Thoroughbreds.

Brad Cox joined this edition of the TDN Writers' Room to discuss his impressive list of 3-year-old colts pointing toward the Kentucky Derby.

The world we share with these amazing animals may be an ever-changing one, but its mysteries abide. We consider ourselves ever more knowledgeable, ever more certain, riding the slipstream of science. Yet how much do we truly know, when Afternoon Deelites holds out for all those years and then waits just six days before following his owner to whatever shore may (or may not) lie beyond the horizon of life?

Tom Amoss admits that it's not often that he spends over a half-million dollars on a yearling at the sales, but a good client and a little serendipity saw him come home with the exciting Hoosier Philly from Keeneland September 2021. Amoss talks about the filly and her upcoming start on Saturday on this week's Thoroughbred Daily News Writers' Room podcast presented by Keeneland. Zedan was the Green Group Guest of the Week.
