In our final episode for the year, Mike and Chris kick off the show this week with a mihi to all those affected by the eruption of Whakaari/White Island this week and remember also our whanau in Samoa who are still feeling the impact of the measles break out on the island. We have a quick chat this week about some differences between Maori and Pakeha Anglicanism including using Marae as spaces for worship and why we reckon we are OK without Cathedrals. We then take a light-hearted look at Christmas and what you thought you knew! 

Mike and Chris are joined live in studio this week by Isaac Beach and Zhane Tahau-Wheelan. Isaac and Zhane are both training for ordination but in two very different ways. At 22 years old Zhane isn't even old enough to be ordained yet! While Isaac at 32 has finished a masters degree, runs a hemp business, and feels a call to ministry. Join us to hear more about the diverse pathways that people travel on their journey of discernment.

Mike and Chris are joined by gardening extraordinaire and social media influencer Adrian Sutherland in this special episode of the podcast. Adrian talks about growing up on the coast, his entrepreneurial roots, and his calling to come home to grow! Adrian leads Tipu Ora, a programme run by Te Rau College that sees gardens, gardening, and gardeners transformed into tools for discipleship. We also talk men's health and the reason why its getting so hairy around the place.

This week Michael and Chris are joined by Zhane Tahau-Wheelan. Zhane is a lay minister, seminarian, and modern day monk currently studying at the College of St. John the Evangelist in Auckland, our church's national training college. Zhane talks to us about growing up in a whanau with a strong whakapapa of faith and the powerful influence of his Nannys.
