This episode examines each text mentioning the gift of languages: Mark 16, Acts 2, 10, and 19, and 1 Corinthians 12-14. Paul's four regulations of the use of the gift are examined: (1) only in love for building others up, (2) only accompanied by interpretation, (3) only one speaker at a time, and (4) only three speakers maximum in a gathering. Also included are some speculations as to why these regulations are given and three proposals for understanding why Paul's instructions are different from what can be observed in Acts when the gift is used.
