On the occasion of the King Salman Global Academy of the Arabic Language (KSGAAL)’s Arabic Language Month, Casa Árabe, in conjunction with the Academy, is organizing this roundtable discussion on “Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language: Challenges and realities,” with the participation of experts from the KSGAAL and Spanish universities, including Pedro Buendía Pérez, a full professor with the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), and Ignacio Gutiérrez de Terán, a professor of Arab and Islamic Studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), with moderation by Hatim Bouazza Touil, a professor of Arab and Islamic Studies at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC).

The purpose of Arabic Language Month is to promote and celebrate the wealth and diversity of the Arabic language through training sessions with teachers and students of Arabic, including visits and meetings with universities and centers of learning to create lines of cooperation and joint projects.
