All of us live by a combination of faith plus sight. We plan our days but submit our plans to the Father. But sometimes God asks os us to do things that goes against common convention, like Noah. Noah built a boat by faith. Abel teaches us what it means to worship God; Enoch what it means to walk with God; And Noah what it means to obey God. But it is Abraham who puts all the pieces together, and teaches us what is involved in living by faith. Living by faith is a pilgrimage. It involves patience as we wait on God to fulfill His promises. When we live by faith we experience the power of God as He does the impossible for us. But when we live by faith our faith is also tested to prove the genuineness of is. Abraham was tested when he offered up his son, Isaac. And finally, those who live by faith have an eternal perspective on life. This world is not our home. We are sojourners, pilgrims. But our true homeland is in heaven!!
