As our Senior Pastor, Kevin Rutledge, retires after 7 years of leadership at UAC, here is his parting message.

The early church in Acts made a huge impact on its world. To have this kind of impact we have to have a big view of God. Join us as we discover to make an impact in our world.

All of us can probably think of people who we see as long shots for coming to faith in Jesus. As bad as those odds are they are not as bad as Saul of Tarsus. God did something that should encourage us with our impossible people.

The church started with spectacular success, but that exuberance was short lived as the church was subject to much opposition. However, God is not thwarted by those attacks and we don’t have to be either.

As we continue on our studies into the book of Acts, we learn the music and lyrics of the gospel.

The church can be a powerful force for good in the world, but not all churches are accomplishing that. Luke shows us a picture of a church that was turning its world upside down in Acts.

Jesus’ ministry was able to touch only so many lives personally. His exodus from this earth would not be the end of his influence. Rather, Jesus’ ministry was multiplied thousands and millions of times.

While Jesus conquered death the disciples wondered where things would go from there. They had hoped that Jesus would establish a physical kingdom. Instead he gave them a mission and left them. This would be a crucial step in fulfilling the mission.
