I published this poem a few days back on my website's blog space and poured all my heart into it. I am a connoisseur of good art, and if I am allowed to say so, of people as well, I love them in all their forms, for aren't we are pieces of art, works-in-progress? I have had the good luck to be with the best of human beings, and I never take it for granted. One of them is my dear friend with whom I co-founded TealandYellow. At TealandYellow, we bring to all you aesthetes, charm of an old, bygone world in the form of local, ethical, sustainable, slow fashion, home decor and sun-dried, home-made snacks. We are equally proud of our artists and helpers who bring humanness, uniqueness to each and every product they make with their happy hands and minds. TealandYellow is love manifested in the form of a venture- our love for the slow, breezy way of life and living.
tealandyellow.in is being launched on the 1st of June, 2021. Our constant endeavor is to bring out the most unique qualities in you- though our customizable dresses, home decor and more, all while being considerate to the planet that nourishes us every day. Choose sustainable, slowly, ethically, locally made products- that's an advice from an impulsive shopaholic who has learned lessons in shopping behavior the hard way.
We look forward to you visiting our site- that's currently a work in progress, and subscribe to get the best of offers and news about our new product launches.

Have you ever felt a strong will surge in you in the midst of a storm, because you have someone, something, be it a person, a dog or your home, with whom or where you want to live for as long as life allows?

How often we wish we hadn't said something, or if we hadn't heard something hurtful being said about us? Words haunt, words burrow deep and make make graves in your heart, in which dead bodies of your innocence, your happiness, your zeal to live are buried. You know why do we call differences irreconcilable when people separate- it's because words on your heart can't be erased, sometimes, they can't even be forgiven, leaving us with questions and pain no one, not even the one who inflicts can answer, subdue.
But there are some fabulous words too, and let's start using those right away- words of happiness, words of cheer and words of self-healing. Sending immensely strong positive vibes to those listening.

I wonder sometimes, why is it that we never ever share what we so desperately need to, our innermost thoughts, desires, dreams, challenges, our love for someone, our insecurities, our weaknesses; I mean it is so evident that people are trying harder than ever to put up the best version of themselves out there as if life is full of roses. Sometimes, put aside your pride, your insecurities, your perceptions about what other people think about you, and call someone close to you, or just someone, and tell them what you feel, what hurts you, what bothers you, what you really enjoy doing. Is it so difficult?

Listen to my teeny weeny poem on Privilege, rather my take on privilege, the way I have seen it playing out in my life and lives of those around me. I come from a small village in Central India- Sevagram, and the more I saw people around me, more often, the girls, the women of the households in my very conservative Sindhi surroundings- it almost felt like these women do not know at all that their male counterparts are privileged in ways more than the numbers of stars in the sky. And it almost struck hard, something deep in me, that's how gaslighting works, doesn't it? While it is tragic that the ones who are privileged are oblivious about their privileges or do not care about those beneath them, it breaks one's heart to see that the underprivileged do not know or care about their own plight either...
I hope my poem will make you think about it, even if for a second, and it will hurt, even if a bit, for I hope we are all still human, despite all the ways in which our minds are modified and convoluted by our harder than ever lives...
