Who is Augie T. and Mahealani Sims-Tulba?Augie is a Honolulu City Council member representing District 9, including Waipahū, ʻEwa Beach, and surrounding areas. Before entering politics, he was a prominent comedian and radio personality in Hawaii, known for his work in local media and voice-over projects. Elected to the council in 2020, he now focuses on serving his community while continuing to be a familiar and respected figure in Hawaii.
Mahealani, daughter of Augie, is the founder and CEO of B.R.A.V.E. Hawai'i (Be Respectful and Value Everyone), a nonprofit dedicated to combating bullying and promoting kindness and respect among students. Inspired by her own experiences, she authored and illustrated It’s Okay to Be Different to help others facing similar challenges. A former Miss Hawaii Jr. High School America and Miss Aloha Latina, her advocacy and community service have earned her numerous accolades, including the Violet Richardson Award.
