We've been talking a lot about change and new years resolutions for your business. I'd also like to challenge you to do something scary next year - whether personally or to stretch the bounds of your leadership skills.

The past few years have placed many of us in hibernation mode. We need to stretch ourselves to grow.

This year, I did something really scary for me personally. I appeared on a live stream speakers event for the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Don't get me wrong. I love to talk. I love to meet with other people in groups. But there's a scariness to telling your personal story, to being vulnerable, with a group of people you don't know. 

The theme of the night was "Metamorphosis". I told my story about how my high-risk pregnancy made me stronger, and prepared me for other changes and challenges. How it broke me out of my cocoon and helped me become the more realized person I am today. To remind everyone that although change can be scary and difficult, there can be hope and renewal at the other end.
