Teatro Zinzanni has played in a few different iterations in an ongoing production at the Cambria Hotel in its marvelously mirrored circus Spiegeltent, but the current show is new, fresh, invigorating and most of all, fun!

The production is led by the fabulous vocalists Liv Warfield (a golden buzzer recipient on America’s Got Talent this season) and Cunio (“Jersey Boys,” Under the Streetlamp, and heavy metal rock and roll groups) who bring the house down with their unparalleled voices. They are joined by an ensemble of acrobats, clowns, gymnasts and other circus performers. The evening includes a 4 course meal, full bar and an incredible “in the round” experience.

Enjoy this conversation with Cunio who provides great insight about the show…and you can purchase tickets for the show (which runs through February 16th) at: www.zinzanni.com/chicago

Review: Teatro Zinzanni at the Cambria Hotel, 14th Floor Circus level!

By: Paul Lisnek, “Behind the Curtain,” WGNRadio.com

****/4

The circus has come to town! Well, it actually arrived in 2019 and has never left but it has transformed and grown and continues to keep audiences fascinated and engaged the entire town.

In its current version, the show relies on the power voices of Cunio (who plays “Mr. Zinzanni” and seen previously in Jersey Boys) and Liv Warfield (AGT Golden Buzzer winner no less!) who blow the roof off the tent night after night. Without a doubt, Cunio and Warfield are a powerhouse team who blend perfectly, share the same energy and love for music, love and audience. Seriously, their voices are unparalleled and bringing them together creates a chemistry near impossible to craft elsewhere.

Fronting the comedy is Kevin Kent as “Doily” who has not only been with the show since its inception 25 years ago in Seattle, but knows how to read a room, engage with the engageable and have willing audience members expand their limits encouraged and cheered by the watching and charmed audience.

If you saw the show in its initial year, then you haven’t yet seen Teatro Zinzanni today. Yes, the contortionist, and cast of characters who look like circus staffers all take their moment in the light to impress with a myriad of circus acts. And it was so joyous to see the husband and wife trapeze team of Duo Rose (Sam Sion and Sylvia Friedman) take the stage after some time away to create their family. Their acrobatic act is jaw-dropping.

This is a show the entire family will enjoy…the humor is a bit risqué so perhaps those under the age of 12 might want to let the rest of the family attend. But for a night of wonder, a gourmet meal (with choices) and an overall fabulous 2 and a half hour evening out, you’ll be hard pressed to have a better time anywhere else in Chicago!

Playing through February 16th, tickets can be purchased at: www.Zinzanni.com/chicago
