  • S2E27: Google Workspace VP and GM leaving Google, Offline Syncing for Office docs, Calendar guest list in Meet, Updated timeline for Integrated view in Gmail, and more
Once again, Final Cut Pro was having a violent temper tantrum much like my 3 year old at bedtime last night.

I had to completely reinstall and re-setup my Final Cut library and app just to get it to render properly. Before I did all that, it wouldn't even render video, it output an 11kb file with a few words of the intro. It's like my computer was on strike. I am going to give Adobe Premier a try and see where that gets me. Does anyone know why Final Cut melted down like that? Anyway, on to the episode!

Back from the cruise, and man am I glad we did not try to record. The internet package I paid for had 500kbps up and down Google Chat wouldn’t even load. Guess that’s why they call it the chat package…. This was so painful and as it is I had to remote in to post last weeks episode because it didnt finish rendering in time before I had to leave for the cruise.

Apologies for the delay in posting this weeks show, something funky is happening with the episode export, all the files are fine and the video plays normally, however 2/3ds of the way through it just has nothing into the file. Try again fresh next week!

They started a couple of weeks ago and have been manifesting as my camera feed cutting out halfway through the video. I have been working daily with their dev team to figure it out, and while we are making progress….. something glitched at the beginning of the episode and my audio source switched from my pro mic to my headphones. I’ll be in the corner crying in shame. Hopefully, we will get this all sorted soon!

I had a great time at the Google Events in LA and Irvine, the LA office is in the old Spruce Goose hanger, the former home to Howard Hughes wooden aircraft that was an engineering marvel, except for the part where it only flew once. It was 6 times larger than any aircraft built at the time in 1947 with a hanger just as large. They literally built a building inside the hanger, incorporating all the style and history, and that is the Google LA Office! Also…. I mayyyy have had a conversation or two about doing a Google Workspace Focused event at the Spruce Goose office in LA, so! Stay tuned for more on that as it evolves.
