Tech In Seoul, in partnership with La French Tech Seoul, meets Matthew (차민근) Shampine, Co-Founder and CEO at Dongnae.
Dongnae is "a modern real estate discovery and service platform" with an ambition to revolutionize the way people rent or buy real-estate in Korea. The app will be officially launched in May 2021.
Before starting Dongnae, Matthew spent a large part of his business life working for WeWork. He joined the company at a very early stage, launched the asia-pacific business and eventually moved to Seoul to become the general manager of WeWork Korea.
In this episode, Matthew shares his experience in the prop-tech industry in the US and in Korea. He also develops for us the mission and the ambition of Dongnae, and how he and his team plan to have a strong and lasting impact on the local real-estate market.
Matthew and his co-founder only started the company 13 months ago. They already raised 4.8 Million dollars from US investors and VCs for whom it was the first investment in Asia.
