In this podcast, I interview a mentor of mine, Alex Gobbi. She is currently the CMO at Code42, and has also been the CMO of Secureworks (a Dell Technologies company), and Earthlink. This month, she became an empty nester for the first time as she sent her son off to college.
I would describe Alex as a strategic, analytical, and data-driven marketing executive. She’s also one of few introverted CMOs I’ve met. She’s creative, calculated, focused on marketing’s impact to the business, and can easily connect the dots to see the bigger picture and trends.
Listen in to hear our conversation about Alex’s ascent to the C-Suite as a mom in tech, the impact on her kids (now that her oldest is 21), using transitions effectively, and what it’s like becoming the breadwinner in your family.
Today's episode reviews the 6 most common mindset traps that are common to tech moms that prevent them from getting ahead.

Chasidy is a mom of two kids, a 4-year-old and a 7-month-old. She previously worked for Microsoft, interned at ConocoPhillips, HP, and PwC, and now she's pursuing her Ph.D. in Leadership Studies. Listen in to hear her advice for mamas pursuing advanced degrees and her birth story as a Black mom in the US that brought me to tears when I first read it on Facebook. This episode helps raise awareness that Black moms die from pregnancy-related issues nearly four times more often than white women. We'll discuss the Harvard research-backed reasons why in this podcast. Visit blackmamasmatter.org to learn more and consider donating to advancing Black Maternal Health, Rights, and Justice.
Annie is a mom of two kids under 5. Listen in to hear her story of transitioning into tech (she previously worked with HSBC, the BBC, ASOS.com, and BP) and how kids impacted her career. She took off work for 4 years after becoming a mom and has inspirational advice for any mom out there looking to get back in the game. I seriously teared up hearing her speak about it. Annie also talks about how her employer, Dell, supports working moms and how it started from day one with her first interview.

In this episode, we address burnout and explore it at a macro-level and a workplace level. We'll dive into the academic research that descrives 6 key factors that lead to burnout. Download the free Working Mom Burnout Guide at www.techmomcollective.com/burnout.
