BRKZ, the Riyadh-based building materials procurement platform, has secured $31 million in new capital: a $13 million Series B co-led by Aramco's Wa'ed Ventures and 500 Global, with BECO Capital and Anb Seed Fund participating, plus an $18 million growth-debt commitment from Stride Ventures drawn under the $30 million facility agreed in October 2025.
Revenue grew 2.5x in 2025 on top of 4x in 2024 and is on track to triple again in 2026, a run recorded through a year of regional supply-chain disruption.
The platform now serves more than 1,500 contracting companies and 150 factories through roughly 2,100 suppliers, has sold more than $133 million (SAR 500 million) of materials and has priced more than $1.37 billion (SAR 5.13 billion) of RFQs since inception.
An AI pricing engine trained on about 40,000 RFQs now lands 84 to 89 percent of its predictions within 5 percent of the final transacted price, while an agent called Nusa closes roughly three-quarters of bulk-cement delivery notes without human intervention.
Total capital raised since inception now exceeds $70 million across equity and debt, with the Series B still open to additional strategic investors.

  • A Private Debt Crisis

This story was originally published on HackerNoon at: https://hackernoon.com/a-private-debt-crisis.

Private credit’s rise has made leverage feel routine. Higher rates should push private capital back toward durable, unlevered value creation.

Private credit has made leverage feel normal across private capital, but higher rates are exposing how much performance depended on cheap debt rather than stronger businesses. Patient, unlevered investing offers a more durable path by focusing on cash flow, operations, founder alignment, and long-term value creation.

  • Cortisol Could Be the Next Big Wearable Tech Metric

This story was originally published on HackerNoon at: https://hackernoon.com/cortisol-could-be-the-next-big-wearable-tech-metric.

Cortisol tracking is coming to wearables. Here’s what continuous cortisol monitoring could reveal, why sweat sensors matter, and why context is crucial.

Cortisol could become the next major metric in wearable health tracking, but measuring it continuously is far harder than tracking heart rate or sleep. Sweat-based sensors are making passive cortisol monitoring possible, yet a single cortisol number means very little without context. The real value will come from tracking patterns over time, alongside sleep, activity, circadian rhythm, and individual baselines.

The right GPU depends on the complete workload—not just the model name. VRAM requirements change with model size, precision, context length, concurrency, resolution and workflow complexity. Estimate the required memory, compare suitable GPUs by speed and price, and test with realistic inputs before committing.
