Vanakkam geeks! It's a different kind of an episode we tried today, continuing the Trends 2018 series of episodes where we try to find larger trends in smartphones and technology in general. Today, we talk about AI again, but in the context of two movies that have predicted how our technology was going to evolve.

2001 A Space Odyssey predicted the arrival of voice-based digital assistants way back in 1968

I, Robot predicted the arrival of military grade robots way back in 1950 (the book) although the movie was released only in 2004 when visual effects were good enough to show robots that killed humans

Both of these movies taught us that AI should be something that's feared. Is there any logic in this? Should we fear AI, especially when these predictions have turned out to be true?
