  • Why is Erica a fintech ambassador? Prince Harry too.
Big Brother Naija evictee Erica Nlewedim was announced Kuda Bank ambassador earlier this month and while her fans are adamant that her ambassadorial deal made the bank get its newest series funding, some more tech savvy individuals think otherwise. Some in fact think Erica wasn't the best choice but what of the case of Prince Harry being chief impact officer at mental health startup Better Up? Does the fact that he's taking on an official role make him different from a reality star? Is he qualified for the job? Are influence, clout, credentials, qualifications and official designations stuff that need more nuance when onboarding talent/ambassadors for a startup? BellaRose from TechCity explores the angles. #TheTechCityPodcast IG/T/F: @techcityng

  • "Where is Jack Ma?" & other puzzles

On October 24, 2020 at the Bund Summit in Shanghai, China’s wealthiest man Jack Ma was preparing to float Ant Group, a fintech company, in what was billed to be the largest IPO in the world. But the listing never happened. That night was the last time that he was seen in public. In other puzzling happenings, #EndSARS protester and youth representative on the Lagos state End SARS judicial panel @savvyrinu called Nigeria a "Zoo" and was dragged for it. Aren't there more important things to "drag" though? Plus, the tech community lost a talent, David Ntekim-Rex to armed robbery and police nonchalance. We at TechCity condole with his family and pray for the safety of all. Thanks for listening, please like, subscribe and share this podcast everywhere! Also, wear a mask and keep a social distance. Cheers! ~ The TechCity team.

Tunde Leye is our guest on this episode finale of the CBN sanction series. While Tunde Leye is currently promoting his new movie title finding hubby, he first gained prominence when years ago, he started a blog called "Finding Hubby; The diary of Oyin Clegg." Bella says she read the blog religiously at the time. Haha, now many awards and published books later, not many know that Tunde at those times was neck deep into banking and financial solutions. He joins BellaRose on this episode to talk about the CBN sanction announced sometime this year from the perspective of a fintech operator, a bank user and the guy next door. Thanks for listening and please share this podcast to everyone you know and we hope you have a happy 2021. Here's to more episodes and more insightful conversations. Cheers from Team #TechCity!
