Metals like lithium cobalt, rare earth metals, and nickel are needed to build machines like solar panels, wind turbines, and electric cars. What's the trade-off?

Her research illustrates how some societies used to be more egalitarian than they are today but have been influenced by the strict gender roles of more recent generations.
