Techno-Logik Sessions

This Is Paul Azizeh and Wes Nesman and welcome to another exciting episode of TL Sessions.  This year marks the 52nd episode of the TL Sessions podcast and this month of April will be 2 respected DJ's, Huktonwax and Jimmy Noise.

Jimmy Noise

If you combined Rick from Rick and Morty with a touch of Hunter S. Thompson and a dash of good old fashion Rock and Roll, you would get somewhere in the musical vicinity of the great JiMMY NOiSE. A producer’s producer, Jimmy takes the elements of the pieces that move him and adds his very own sonic funk, often sounding like something straight out of a cosmic woodstock. The Noise plays by his own rules, usually breaking many along the way, to create a unique sound in an oversaturated audio landscape. He’d rather not say much at all honestly, if you’re lucky enough to hear Jimmy’s Noise, it definitely speaks for itself.

DoubleShot

The dynamic Tag Team, Dj Duo of Jimmy and Anthony, began with two best friends who discovered their shared love for dance music, while still in High School. Gathering inspiration from two of the west coast’s most iconic dj masters, Donald Glaude and Dj Dan, DoubleShot brings a heavy/funky bass sound that keeps your body moving, your mind interested, and your ears wanting more.

Playing a style of music, that has influenced them for well over a decade and deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest, DoubleShot has only begun to break the surface. Opening for Donald Glaude in 2017 and playing on the monorail during EDC in Las Vegas and “For the Love of It” at the Artisan in 2018, was only just the start. This year they performed at Ocean Grooves 20 Year Anniversary, opening for an amazing 3x6, featuring Omarvelous, Dj dAb and Donald Glaude. This Is Paul Azizeh and welcome to an exciting new episode of TL Sessions.  We’re closing out the year with a very special guest DJ coming to TL Sessions, he’s one of the most respectful Trance DJ’s in Seattle WA and his name is DJ WhistleR.  It was the late 1990's, names like Tiesto & Armin Van Buuren were rising young stars in the electronic dance world.

Victor Cape also known as DJ WhistleR was swept off his feet by the trance sound so much that by year 2000, he was inspired to buy 2 Technics turntables and a Numark mixer to begin teaching himself how to mix. One short year later in 2001, Whistler started Lovetribe Productions in Seattle and crafted annual events: Lucky Charms, Divalicious, Organik along with one-offs called Loveshack & Keeping Seattle Tidy.  Along the way, he worked religiously to rock the dance floor no matter the event big or small earning much love & respect in the Seattle electronic scene where he eventually caught the attention of USC and earned an opening slot for Seattle's biggest annual Halloween Massive...Freaknight 7.

Since then, Whistler have played at numerous raves and clubs in Vancouver, Canada; Portland, OR.; Sacramento, CA.; San Francisco, CA.; Los Angeles, CA.; and Las Vegas, NV. For Techno-Logik, Whistler is laying down a deep tech vocal trance set that touches various elements of the sound he is known for.

This month we have a special guest DJ from Seattle WA and his name is JROK.  JROK, known to many as Karma, fell in love with DnB in 1999 while experiencing one of the godfather’s of Drum n Bass, DJ DARA. Witnessing the passion of that performance opened up JROK’s love for the soul filling sounds of Liquid. In 2007 JROK put his skills to the test and began mixing from the heart, carrying all of that passion with him as he starts on his journey through Drum n Bass.

This Is Paul Azizeh and welcome to an exciting new episode of TL Sessions.  This month’s episode going to be a special one with a guest DJ who’s been my mentor when I started learning how to DJ.  His name is THA DiGiTAL DRAGON.

Celebrating 20 years in the industry, Wes Nesman, THA DiGiTAL DRAGON has come along way from humble beginnings in Detroit, to his current residencies with Fraktured in Seattle and Ocean Grooves in Tacoma. Founding Techno-Logik Events and developing local talent like me, Paul Azizeh, to become a valued partner, expanding the company into this amazing podcast known as “TL Sessions”; Wes has already surpassed anything he initially imagined.

With his focus on the future, the established label, Techno-Logik Records, and upcoming cutting edge projects like TLVR, he hopes to find new ways to empower Technologists, bringing the music and the people who love it, closer together. He feels it is important to remember that, all of this wouldn’t be possible, without the passion of the audience and their commitment to the music. Every single one of you listening right now, and all of our most sincere fans are the lifeblood of everything we cherish here at Techno-Logik.

This month Wes wanted to recognize that passion with a memorial mix to a very close Friend and an incredible Fan, that recently passed earlier this year. Jeff Avery, known to many as BiG BiRD, made a serious impact on Digi when he first arrived in Washington and always expressed an absolute love for the music, showing unforgettable kindness to everyone involved.

His praise and appreciation fueled monstrous dedication, creating a giant’s drive for excellence. Bird’s memorial mix will span decades, genres, lifetimes and is very much like Jeff’s heart, BiG. Big enough to include so many others who also, recently passed, along the way. To honor and respect, mourn and celebrate, dance and reminisce, THA DiGiTAL DRAGON presents his mix, “The BiG that is BiRD” and that will be in the second hour.

NOTE: may contain explicit material, we've cleaned it up to have a clean mix but just wanted the listeners to be aware.

Thank you to the artists who produce the music to make these shows possible.  Also, thank you to the fans on Mixcloud, Facebook, iTunes, Google Music and Twitter for listening.

This Is Paul Azizeh and welcome to an exciting new episode of TL Sessions.  We have a special guest DJ coming to TL Sessions and his name is F’N Wizard.  Not many can say they have climbed magic mountain quite as many times as The F’N Wizard! With a love for Trance and Rave, Niall takes to throwing events and mixing like a magician to hokus pokus. Casting his epic style of heavy dance and powerful vibes, The F’N Wizard is a hero of the night, always ready to defend his love for the music and the scene.
