4K  in 360-degree video it can still feel like it’s not so much. So Pisofttech is showing off one of the first 360 camera that can stitch 8K videos in the camera itself. The Pilot Era is a four-lens camera capable of shooting 8K 360 videos at 26 frames per second or 4K at 60 fps.

About Pilot Era 8K Camera

The Pilot Era’s four lenses and sensors work together to record and stitch 8K spherical video automatically. You can still choose to use third party software to do the stitching if you want, but why would you when this device does it all for you? The four f/2.2 fisheye lenses are on each side of the body and the camera also uses algorithms to stabilize the footage and correct any distortions created by merging the four views together.

The Pilot Era has a small touchscreen, voice control and an optional smartphone app can control it remotely. It also has four different preview modes: fisheye, scrollable 360, little planet, and flattened equirectangular which allows you to see the entire recorded area. It weighs about as much as a can of soda, so it is compact and also light. The battery will deliver 1-2 hours of use time.

Robeau has developed highly efficient water-measurement technology that is currently being used by businesses in Europe to track their water consumption. Robeau uses wi-fi enabled meters that track water flow and then report back to a server. From there, customers can track water usage by day, week, month, or year. Robeau can also notify users thru mobile apps of issues like possible leaks, and users can then use Robeau to turn off problematic water connections remotely.

Robeau is currently in the process of bringing its products to the US market.

Get on the scale, and it will take a full 3D scan of your body in less than 40 seconds. It creates a photo realistic 3D avatar of you. The avatar syncs to your iPhone or Android smartphone via the ShapeScale app. Look at your 3D avatar to see the small changes to your body that have been happening over time.

ShapeScale uses color coding to convey information. It colors portions of your 3D avatar blue to show where body fat loss has taken place. It colors part of your avatar red to show where muscle gain has happened. The app can show you other health and fitness measurements including circumference measurements, body weight, height, body fat, and lean mass.

ShapeScale is set to start shipping later this year. It will retail at $499. However, if you head to their website now, you can preorder your very own ShapeScale for $349.

What is Silver Lake Reverb?

This is a digital reverb workstation, with stereo inputs, and MIDI control. With 8 types of reverb, you can move from a room sound, to a spring, gated, or hall sound with the turn of a dial. You can add dynamic expression to adjust the Mix, Mod, or Damp settings, depending on how you are playing.

There are over 100 preset locations, MIDI switchable for song setup, and the ability to send in Stereo to your amps, or mixer.

Sergio also inquired about the Solid State guitar amp heads. Riley talks about the PowerStage 700 wth stereo output and cab simulator. A smaller PowerStage 170 for an amplifier right on your pedal board.

Taff Optical

Most instruments get amplified using either Microphones, pickups, or Piezo sensors. But Taff has been introducing a new way to amplify the sound – through optics. Host Sergio Michel talks with Taff Optical about their line of optical pickups at NAMM.

What is an Optical Pickup?

Using the instrument’s body to modulate a path of light, the Taff optical sensor will be a great way to give the fullness of their instruments through only one pickup. Constant volume, all without distortion.

Taff Optical helps stringed instruments like the cello, upright bass, acoustic guitar, and many other acoustic instruments.
