Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  Tesla CEO Elon Musk says unlike having cars that just sit around most of the time…because they need a driver….autonomous vehicles….truly driverless…will be able to be operated as robo-taxis.  During the Q and A at the Tesla annual shareholders’ meeting Musk said…

“You’d have the option of owning a car.  Using a car just occasionally when you need it, like an auto-Uber or something like that.  And then an owner of a car could decide that they want to use their car or they want to add or subtract it to the fleet.  So I think it would end up being some kind of a combination of like Air B and B and Uber or something like that.”

As for when…that’s another issue.  California’s DMV is currently accusing Tesla of falsely advertising what the company calls Full Self Driving.  Stay Tuned.

“Like paying a cyber tax..it’s not a hard math to make.  Basically, a cyber-attack comes along…it’s always an unexpected event that ends up costing a lot of money.  On average this year, we’re at 4.35 million dollars.  That is 13 percent over the past two years that the cost of a cyber breach have risen.”
