Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.   Using a search engine…to plant trees.  Ecosia is the name of a search engine that works pretty much like any other search engine.  Except that it take the advertising revenue derived from searches…and uses it to plant trees around the world.  It is headquartered in Germany…is non-profit…and North America head Ruby Au says…

“At least 80 percent of that financing goes into our tree planting projects all over the world.  We’ve actually planted over 123 million trees to date.  And about 20 percent of that goes into other projects like renewable energy projects or regenerative agriculture projects.”
