  • 1More entering smart glasses space using ChatGPT and more

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. Will there be smart glasses from Google returning this year….or maybe from Apple. The success of the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses is stirring up more competition. The Ray-Ban Meta glasses include cameras and bring lots of useful features including language translation and very good quality speakers that serve as open ear headphones. 1More is planning to enter the category this year. The company’s Timothy Hsu says the plan is to make them affordable for many more consumers..

“We’ll be having a camera function. Most of the current ones, they do not have a camera. They do have translation available, which is something that we’ll be able to use through ChatGPT.”

1More is well known for their quality, yet affordable headphones and earbuds. It should be interesting.

  • Some surprising resolutions trending for this year

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. Two weeks into the new year and hopefully you’ve been able to stick to whatever resolutions you’ve made. What has been trending? Google’s Jennifer Jones says learning to draw better is on top..

“You usually expect the usual suspects of losing weight or making money or getting organized, but how to draw has been number one for the past month in the U.S.” And there’s a how to get better…things we want to get better at. What did you find there? “ Sure, so these are just things that people want to improve on that I guess they already do. Number one was actually sing better and drawing also made the top five.”

Another popular resolution was to get a better night’s sleep. One more was actually how to make ramen better. You never know.

  • Supercharge Your Life With AI

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        Supercharge Your Life With AI is the title of a new book from Rikard Steiber….a former Google exec, Silicon Valley maverick and CEO of GoodTrust.   The aim is to take some of the mystery out of the growing number of generative AI tools out there and show how they can help with everyday tasks…

“If you think about your family relationships and the relationship with your kids or your partner, how can AI be helpful there?  When it comes to your health, being more fit, you want to lose weight, you want to learn new things, how can AI help you there?  So the book is really about learning more about AI, how to talk to AI more as a person.”

It is written in a style that makes the technology understandable with specifics to make it useful.  Well done.   The title again is Supercharge Your Life With AI.

  • T-Mobile pushing forward with Project 10 Million

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. There are still an estimated 17 million children and teens in the U.S. without reliable high speed Internet access. And with much school work today…that capability is often essential. T-Mobile is once again pushing forward with its Project 10 Million to help those kids and their families. Tech and consumer products expert Cassie Slane says it became critical during the pandemic and continues today…

“You know the kids are doing so many online assignments and streaming and research, they need that high speed Internet access at home in order to keep up. It’s still a problem but there’s a lot more companies like T-Mobile that are focused on bridging that gap.”

The eligibility requirements to participate are at t-mobile.com/project10million.
