Teenage Self-Destructive Behavior, What drives it and how can we fix it?
Show Guest: Jamison Monroe
Jamison Monroe, founder and CEO of Newport Academy strongly believes that the self-destructive behaviors in which teens are participating are external manifestations, or symptoms, of underlying, internal issues. The maladaptive coping mechanisms for which we see teens enter treatment include self-harm, substance abuse, eating disorders, conduct disorders and other forms of self-destructive behaviors. He believes an environment that provides safety and security, and above all, unconditional love, is what teens and their families need in order to heal.
Join us as Monroe describes the advanced, multiple modalities of psychological and experiential therapies that Newport Academy is utilizing when treating their teen residents and the entire family.
