On Tuesday June 15, 2021 California's pandemic restrictions were lifted to open the local economies. Tehachapi celebrated with a large gathering of 55 small businesses in the downtown area to have a Grand Reopening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. All 55 businesses and nonprofits cut ribbons at the same time in a huge ceremony attended by more than 150 people.
