A critical part of 5G is the Open RAN. Computing giant IBM has partnered with Florida-based Airspan Networks to accelerate the adoption of 5G-enabled Open RAN technologies in Europe. This new architecture provides greater choice and lowers costs while preventing vendor lock-in and enabling innovative new players to break the market hold of the handful of established players. 

This is critical as 5G-enabled Open RANs are required for businesses to bring the signal indoors.
