Why study Bible Prophecy?
The prophet Jeremiah predicted that the Jews would return from Babylonian captivity after 70 years*
Daniel was a student of Bible prophecy and as a result of his diligence, God sent an angel to give him insight into the future*
A new prophecy was given to Daniel concerning the exact timetable for the coming of Christ and the times of the Tribulation*
After 483 years from a certain date, the Messiah would come. Anna and Simeon knew of this timetable and were waiting for Messiah*
Jesus pointed back to Daniel's prophecy on the Mount of Olives when He predicted His 2nd Coming and the events of the Tribulation*
We study the prophecies of the past so that the Holy Spirit can give us insight into the future, as Daniel says at the end of his book*
John writes in the book of Revelation: "The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy", (that's enough reason for me to study prophecy)*
The key purpose of the Bible is to show the prophesied fulfillment of Messiah and to point to the "Blessed Hope" of His return *
BTW, All the Bible references are at the end of the podcast notes for your personal study.
Thanks for listening and Keep Lookin' up!
JESUS IS _COMING SOON

24Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."
