As leader of Holy Name Medical Center since the early '90s, Mike has overseen generations of EHR systems in the hospital, and has, for the second time, embarked on a journey to build a hospital information system (HIS) from scratch. This time, the new system uses Medicomp's Quippe Clinical Engine as the clinical core, and he explains the rationale for why Holy Name decided to build instead of buy off-the-shelf EHR software, especially while they were an epicenter of the COVID pandemic.
