Ps Josephine Petersen (Sunday, 04 September 2022)

Pastor Melvyn Prins ended our conference on Tuesday night with a powerful word on the Management of our Finances, with his focal scripture being Matthew 25:14- The Parable of the Tenants. He taught us that sometimes you may be blessed supernaturally, but the majority of the time your blessings come through the management of your finances. He reminded us that whatever God placed into our care, he wants an account of and he expects us to be productive, because it is important to God that we bear much fruit. He also reminded us that the Kingdom of God is all about investing now so you can receive later. Lastly, He reminded us about the importance of our Tithing, through the book of Malachi as well as the importance of making sure that in addition to our tithing, we should be diligent to exercise justice, mercy and faithfulness in all that we do.

Ps Reuben Pillay (Sunday Evening)

Pastor Reuben ended the Sunday evening by bringing to our attention that when we are in denial about our brokenness and our situation, God will use three things to get our attention. Crisis, Confrontation and Catastrophe. All of these measures God has put in place to save us from ourselves. He urged us to make sure that we never get stuck in the rear view mirror, only focused on our hurt, disappointment and failures, which eventually keep us from moving forward. He ended off with a powerful demonstration, symbolizing the “breaking of our rear view mirrors.

Ps Derek Johnson (Monday Evening - Family week)

On Monday evening, Pastor Derek Johnson spoke on the topic of marriages and single parenthood. He reminded the Husbands that they should love their wives and that wives should be submissive to their husbands. He also reminded us about Proverbs 19:14. “Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.” He also encourages through a quote by Myles Munroe which says “where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable”. Pastor Derek urged us to live in our purpose in our marriages, through functioning in our God given roles as husbands and wives. He encouraged us to remember why we are on Earth and why we have been given our marital and family relationships.

Ps Reuben Pillay (Sunday Morning - Family week 2022)

On Sunday morning, Pastor Reuben Pillay opened our family week conference with a powerful message directed to youth, family and relationships. He took us to Isaiah 57: 18, and reminded us that fruitful relationships require us to humbly and sincerely work on healing in our lives. He also provided us with valuable steps to heal from habitual sin that we may be dealing with, one being, that we should realize that we are not God, we cannot control everything and that running from our pain eventually leads to disaster in our lives.
