Thiruvaranvilai Divyadesam, familiarly worshipped as Aranmula Parthasarathy Perumal Temple and Arjunan Ambalam, is located about 12 KM from Chengannur. The temple was built by Arjunan, as a thanks giving gesture to his Charioteer Lord Vasudeva Krishnan, who guided him throughout the entire Gurukshetra War.
There is a Golden Idol of Lord Parthasarathy, installed and worshipped by Arjuna here in Aranmula Temple. Hence it is familiarly known by the local people as "Parthasarathy Perumal Temple"and "Aranmula".
