Ten Pages In

Back again for space, aliens and monsters: Carl's Doomsday Scenario by Matt Dinniman, Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel, Orbital by Samantha Harvey and The Island of Dr Moreau.

A wrap-up of classics that I've read in August: Cannery Row by John Steinbeck, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie, Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf and Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut.

The Maid by Nita Prose, The Robots of Dawn by Isaac Asimov, The Moon is Down by John Steinbeck and After Dark by Haruki Murakami.

The Rainbow by Yasunari Kawabata, Bat Eater by Kylie Lee Baker, The Silence In Between by Josie Ferguson and Sailor Moon Vol. 1 by Naoko Takeuchi. BONUS: Don Quixote by Miguel Cervantes.

Fire & Ice by Natalie Starkey, Snow by Orhan Pamuk, Born a Crime by Trevor Noah and Pests by Bethany Brookshire (I said Pets instead of Pests twice, please ignore that *crying and laughing emoji*).

I'll be talking about my recent reads: The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu, Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James, The Martian and Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, Caliban's War by James S.A. Corey and the Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky.

As a result of my growing pile of unread non-fiction, I decided to read some of them: Columbine by Dave Cullen, Breakfast at Sotheby's by Philip Hook, The Moth: This Is a True Story by Catherine Burns, Pastrix by Nadia Bolz-Weber and The Weather Detective by Peter Wohlleben.

This month we have The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Matrix by Lauren Groff, The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead, Beloved by Toni Morrison and My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante.

Happy New Year's Eve! I don't actually know what Literary Fiction is, let's give it a try. This month we've got Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi, Flights by Olga Tokarczuk, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon, Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger and Frankenstein by Mary Shelly.

As per the title, I take a look back at Season 5: the good, the bad and the mediocre.
