Ten Pence Arcade

This week we have mainly been playing...Megazone. Possibly the worst game one of us has played so far :-(

Victor has re-found his love for DigDug and has just beaten his personal best, while Alex has been a roving interviewer.

Also - someone's gonna get banned for suggesting Mega Zone... Harumph!

We find out that some arcade games were actually better on the Famicom / Nes! Even the wii struggles to keep up with a couple of 6809 processors.  We review a game that just keeps on taking...

Feedback galore this week - was it the content or the shiny new mics?  We don't care! - we're very grateful for your comments and ideas - please keep it up!

Tell us what you're up to in your arcade world.

On Saturday 22nd February, a crack team of 2 podcasting dumbasses ventured North across the evil enchanted M25 and past many magical service stations to find arcade party Nirvana in the eerie wonderland of Blackburn.  One of the podcasters risked life and limb via an RTA to get there and still can't work out how he got through untouched. Maybe it was luck or maybe it was his many years of playing Rally X that saved his skin?  Who knows - but the party was awesome and many machines were played. Many hind legs were also talked off during the evening. Sausages and pickled onions on sticks have never been so good!

One of us has been to the Computer Spiele Museum in Berlin, while the other has been hard at restoring an under appreciated Nintendo classic. Alas, both of us were caught doing Karaoke last week and a Dino King monitor has been stupidly broken by an idiot with a screwdriver.

Finally, we 'Blast Off' and try and get business concluded before the dreaded CONDITION RED, CONDITION RED!! kicks in.

Anyone know why the yellow ship was carrying nutmeg?

*SPICE* Ship sighted!! (Is this thing on? :-) )

Help us guide our favorite blue Glob to munch some tasty snacks.  Careful not to run into any of the wild animals.  How wild are pigs and frogs anyway?

We find out that a Gyruss upright cab WON'T fit in the back of a Vauxhall Cavalier and Victor had a blast at the Unigame send off meeting and didn't win his own Donkey Kong tournament  trophy. Oh well!

Come back Walter Day - we need you! Where has Twin Galaxies gone? Will we ever get anywhere close to a WR in the first place?

We had a few hiccups in the recording this week (apologies), so quality isn't quite what it should be, but it's still ok! ;-)

This week the Ten Pence Arcaders are breast stroking it all the way to the island of treasure and hoping to be G R E A T! Piranha sandwiches anyone?  We also talk about arcades in Paris and Acton.  A lady gamer beats a world record and a guy in America lives and breathes Missile Command.  Watch out for massive crabs...

Hello again!  - Many thanks for the feedback we have received so far.

This show's game had mixed opinions from Victor and Alex, but it all worked out in the end. Zeke finally got all his animals back in the zoo!

Below are the usual show notes and interesting links etc.

We've had no competition yet - so please comment on the game with your hi scores. If enough people show an interest, we'll get a separate page up with them on.
