Episode 80 of Tendy Talk presented by the BLPA Podcast Network and The Hockey Podcast Network is a little different than other episodes. After taking a few weeks off from the podcast after my Mom's unexpected passing I was joined by Justin Goldman of The Goalie Guild and Lift the Mask project. I wanted Justin to be a part of this episode because he too unexpectedly lost his mom a little over a year ago, but also his work advocating for mental health and his efforts to normalize talking about trauma.

We both approached the discussion not being afraid to be vulnerable, and because of that at times the talk gets raw. It was also therapeutic, and if us sharing our experience can help just one other person dealing with loss it was worth it. Selfishly though, this was an episode I needed to do for myself. It was therapeutic.

For Episode 76 of Tendy Talk presented by the BLPA Podcast Network and The Hockey Podcast Network, I chat with 2022 Minnesota Boy's High School Hockey Tournament Class A champion, four-year varsity goaltender, 2022 Frank Brimsek award winner for best high school hockey goalie in the state, Mahtomedi High School goalie Ben Dardis. It was a good conversation talking to Ben about the experience, of winning a state title with one of his triplet brothers, and learning how he got into the game. While Ben doesn't know where he'll be playing next season, I know some team will be smart enough to pick him up.
