Tentpoles falling, 'Gravity' rising, money spinning: The year in movies 2013

“그래비티가 뜨고, 돈이 돈다” 2013년 영화 총결산

(CNN) -- It was a terrible year for movies.

"The Lone Ranger" was awful -- roasted by critics, avoided by audiences. "Pain and Gain," "After Earth" and "R.I.P.D." also stunk up the multiplex.

올해 영화들은 최악이었다. 론 레인저는 끔찍했다. 혹독한 비평에 볶이고, 관람객들은 등을 돌렸다. 범죄영화 Pain and Gain, After Earth, 그리고 RIPD(Rest in Peace Department) 역시 극장가를 혐오스럽게 했다. 구리게 하다.

"Gravity" was a rush, a 3-D blockbuster that lived up to its technology and featured a nice character study, too. 그래비티는 영화계를 서두르다/ 쇄도했다.

3디 블록버스터는 기술에 부흥했고, 성격의 묘사도 훌륭했다.

The year's box office leader, "Iron Man 3" -- featuring one of Robert Downey Jr.'s typically offbeat performances -- took an unexpected detour into rural Tennessee,

올해의 최고 흥행작 아이언맨 3편은 로버트 다우니 주니어만의 전형적 색다른 연기력이 돋보였다. 그를 그 시골인 테네시까지 가게 하지 않았다. (영화상에서 보면 아이언맨이 다쳤을 때 어린 소년의 도움으로 recover하는 장면이 있잖아요. 그 장면의 장소가 테네시였죠)

and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," helped by its terrific cast, raised the stakes from the sometimes clumsy first film in the series. 헝거게임의 경우엔 1탄에서 보여준 배우들의 어설픈 연기력을 2탄에서 제대로 된 케스트로 완전히 판을 뒤집었다.
