Dr. Elliot Marseille is Principal of the firm, Health Strategies International AIDS. Trained in health policy analysis at the University of California, Berkeley, he has 35 years of senior public health management and research experience and has completed 70 peer-reviewed publications. He is the Course Director for Cost-Effectiveness Analysis in Medicine and Public Health, University of California, San Francisco. In addition to ongoing work on the economics of global health interventions, he consults with MAPS in modeling the economics of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of severe, treatment-resistant PTSD; and with the Usona Institute / Avalon Health Economics in analyzing the cost-effectiveness of psilocybin to treat major depressive disorders. Additional interests include understanding the ethical foundations of cost-effectiveness analysis and identifying sound criteria for judging cost-effectiveness.
