Terminal V

'Fast-rising Dutchman LAMMER has a healthy reverence for the 90s but never resorts to pure nostalgia in his music. The Rotterdam native draws from the roots of the rave scene and crafts his music using a mix of vintage gear and modern replicas and brings plenty of his own sense of euphoria to house, techno and trance. It's bouncy, colourful music that has won him support from the likes of Job Jobse and Trym and helps to define the two parties he runs - the open-air Garden Of Muze festival and warehouse series Op Drave.

This month he is going full time with his music career and marks the move by dropping a brilliant mix for us. It's got one of his own unreleased tracks in next to plenty of big grooves, sleek synths and bright trance sounds that cannot fail to get you pumped up and ready for the weekend. Turn it up loud while riding about his background in design, how his music reflects his personality and more.'

'Kyle Starkey is at the forefront of an exiting new wave of artists bringing all new dimensions to hard house. Importantly, his sound has plenty of in-built funk and a cheeky playfulness that means it is more than pure revivalism. To prove it, he recently dropped the standout Definition Of Love EP featuring two more peak time bombs alongside Rapid Trax boss DART, both of which embody exactly what he is all about right now...'

'Berlin protagonist Afem Syko brings plenty of colour to techno - not only with his music, but his look and his personality. He is something of an antidote to days gone by when those in the scene preferred to be clad in all black and maintain a moody look in their press shots. He is comfortable celebrating his individuality and encouraging his dancers to do the same, not least with the music he drops on labels like Amelie Lens's EXHALE and Kobosil's R Label Group.

Here we hear from him about how he first got into electronic music, why techno is the right vehicle for his creativity and how he likes to approach and structure his DJ sets. For a taste of the results, stick on this week's mix, which is a blistering trip through his current sound.'

'Iran-born Aida Arko has made her mark on the global scene after starting out in the Persian underground. Her journey started a decade ago after years of touring with Cirque Du Soleil and has since taken to her key residencies at Grelle Forelle Club and with the Gegen Collective and NoGender. Her dark, industrial sound comes with hard-edged drums and experimental textures and has been released on labels like Techno Germany and HEKATE Records.

This week's mix features plenty of Arko's own fresh sounds as well as jams from the likes of White Coat, H! DUDE and RAMØN. It is fast-paced and monstrously powerful so turn it up loud while you read on to find out about Arko's personal background, the joys she finds in DJing and the record she respects the most.'

We can't wait for Aida to join us at Terminal V Croatia this July! Make sure to catch the full interview with Aida Arko below >>>

'Biianco is one of the most exciting talents to have broken through in recent times. They are a producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with a bold, bright take on techno, but are also on a mission to uplift their neurodivergent and disabled community. Their body-positive bangers have come on labels like Ultra Records and alongside the venerated Marlon Hoffstadt while their hybrid club sets are full of innovation.

Here we speak about the impact that moving from their native LA to London had on Biianco's sound, what makes a collaboration the right fit and what dance music can still improve on when it comes to involving the differently-abled community in the scene. All that plus a high-energy mix of sounds complete with some live acid additions to get you bouncing through the week.'

'Ventur was one of the many standout debutants at Terminal V festival last year, which is why we've invited him back for a podcast. He also made his international debut after quickly rising up through the UK scene and is now ready to push on once more in 2025. His sounds have come on vital labels like Teletech, Exhale and Taapion and traverse several techno sub-genres, all of them united by irresistible energy.

Here we speak to him about his journey into electronic music from his native North West and how experiences on the dance floor inspired him to get involved, and he also speaks about playing abroad for the first time and the importance of road testing your own tunes.'

'Colombia's Noise Mafia is all set for a breakout year. Hailing from Bogotá, they have already had huge support for their tunes from the likes of Charlie Sparks, I Hate Models and Sara Landry. And it's not hard to hear why - they are big, bouncy, bright collisions of rave, techno, trance and hard dance that bring plenty of character and a wide array of references from myriad sub-genres across the global electronic spectrum.

Ahead of them playing at our epic annual Terminal V Festival in April, we catch up with the artist to reflect on the last 12 months, look ahead to 2024, discuss the state of electronic music back home and talk about how Noise Mafia's sounds are always subtly evolving.'

'Ollie Lishman is one of a number of artists who have made their mark in Australia and moved over to Europe to continue making waves. The Naarm/Melbourne native is now based in Berlin and mixing up the city's sounds with his own style brought from home. He calls it simply 'groovy electronic music' and it takes in big beats, infectious energy and smart samples from across the hard dance spectrum.

He recently made his production debut on Hot Meal and offered up four colourful, full-fat cuts with plenty of character and endlessly infectious bounce. He follows up that up with a fine entry into our mix series which showcases just what you will get from him in the club in 2025. Stick it on and read our chat which touches on his creative process, mixing up influences and lessons he has picked up along the way.'
