Since 2015, Joe Gilmore has been committed to developing sustainable economic pathways for communities and individuals impacted by the War On Drugs through the legal cannabis industry.
In 2018, Joe was appointed President of MRCC, leading initiatives for National Expungement Week, becoming Technical Assistance providers specializing in municipal guidance for the first cohort of the Cannabis Control Commission’s Social Equity Program, and establishing unprecedented municipal cannabis equity ordinances in both the City of Cambridge & the City of Boston.
From community activism to City Hall, Joe’s lived experiences drive him to continuously support & uplift his community. He currently serves as the Cannabis Fund Manager in the Mayors Office of Economic Development, where he is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the Boston Equity Fund.
