Molly Beauregard has been a professor of sociology for twenty-one years at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Loyola University Chicago, and the University of Pittsburgh, holding master’s degrees in both public administration and sociology. Molly’s recent book, Tuning the Student Mind: A Journey in Consciousness-Centered Education, published by SUNY Press, is based on her innovative course, ‘Consciousness, Creativity and Identity’, which integrates meditation training into the core curriculum via this academic class. As she reports, “In my classroom incubator, I have found that teaching young people to access their internal sense of being via meditation transforms their sense of self as well as their aptitude for learning.” A long-time mediator in the Vedanta tradition, Molly is a certified instructor of the Primordial Sound technique. She is also the Executive Director and Founder of the Tuning the Student Mind Foundation. Initially developed at CCS, the TTSM Foundation supports consciousness-centered education program initiatives at colleges and universities across the country. Recently, Molly has been named co-director of the University of Michigan’s Program in Creativity and Consciousness.
