With tick season fast approaching, Rowan and Special Guest Jo Arbon discuss the steps to take reduce the chance of your dog picking up ticks.

Jo and Rowan go through the key things everyone should know about ticks, including how they choose a host, how they transmit pathogens and the best ways to repell them.

Ticks will choose a host based on body heat, the carbon dioxide the host emits, the ammonia produced when sweating and the pheromones of the host.

Jo also goes through the different repellents you can use, including garlic, essential oils and things you can grow in your own garden.
