This is the very first episode and I wanted to kick it off by sharing a little bit about myself. I share about how I got started drinking, the effects of alcoholism in my personal life - how it affected myself as well as my family and friends, and where I am now.  I  do want to make it clear that this is simply my story, my personal experience, and that I have no issues or judgment towards people who are able to enjoy drinking responsibly.

In this podcast, I will bring you conversations with people from different areas of life, with different backgrounds and different experiences; people who have gone through this journey before and people who are going through this journey now - so that we can be inspired by them, be motivated by them and learn from them. We will listen to the struggles and successes that people have on this journey. Besides addressing addiction-related issues such as alcoholism, we will also explore mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and other disorders that people, especially in recovery, face every day. 

So, why this podcast? Why now? I am a big fan of podcasts. Being in recovery myself  I wanted something that I could listen to every day - to supplement my meetings, to supplement my therapy. Something that could be a part of my daily routine. I couldn’t find one - so I decided to start one myself. This podcast is as much for me as it is for you. It’s my hope that you will make it a part of your daily routine as well. Each episode will be somewhat structured and follows a format so that you know what to expect. It will not be super long, but long enough that we can all get something out of it. We are in this journey together. I am truly grateful that you are here and thank you for making me part of your day.
