Raters may misrepresent the actual performance or qualities of people or objects when their biases influence their judgments. This can result in unfair treatment, incorrect decisions, or missed opportunities for growth and development.As an example, rater bias can negatively affect student grades, admissions, scholarships, and future career opportunities. Rater bias can also impact hiring decisions, promotions, and performance evaluations in the workplace, resulting in discrimination, low morale, and legal consequences.Our goal is to ensure that evaluations are based on objective and reliable criteria, free of personal bias, and fair to all.
