Listen as I go over one part of the short-lived 1776 Report from Trump's commission to bring about more Patriotic and pro-America education. The new President immediately took the report down from the White House website, but I'll provide a link below so you can follow along.

I figured since it's Columbus Day in many places, why not do an episode about this world class asshole. Joined by Hayley, we look at the textbooks and then what the textbooks left out. Find out just how big of a douche this guy was, and maybe begin to understand he shouldn't have a day after the crap he did.

Oh boy...  the original recording was several hours long. But after I edited out a lot of sighs, cursing, calling people nazis, and shouting into the void... it's now less than 45 minutes and only 1 nazi reference. While this speech and the idea behind it are terrible, at least it will keep me with plenty of material for years to come if the Patriotic Education comes to fruition.  Probably not a good enough reason to push for four more years of this windbag.

Bacon's Rebellion is often characterized as a struggle of poor commoners against wealthy elites, of the people against an unresponsive government, and Bacon even has a plaque in the Virginia state house.  Was this rebellion all about ending class oppression or fighting against tyranny, or was it something more sinister.  Join me while I explore how several textbooks present this event, and then dive into what really went down by examining what historians and primary sources have to say.
