After all the waiting, Day 4 was a classic. Early strikes from India, dogged resistance from England, that blossomed into one of Joe Root’s best tons. Every time it looked like England might pull away, India pegged them back. So the wrestle went, as England’s lead built. On the brink of Day 5, anything could yet happen.
