Kristin Smart went missing from the Cal Poly Campus in 1996. For over two decades, her family was left without answers while the man who took her life walked free. Lauren Smith-Fields was found dead after a date with an older man she met on Bumble. Police deemed him a "good guy who didn't need to be investigated." Lauren's family was not notified of her death, a proper investigation was started much too late and they have been fighting for justice since Lauren's death in December of 2021 with very little media coverage.
