Chiang Mai is a city of temples, night markets, and endless food—plus one of the best elephant encounters I could have imagined. Life here moves at a gentler pace than Bangkok, but adventures still abound: from riverside meals and wandering temples, to nights of live music, intense Thai massages, and walking with elephants through the jungle. This northern gem truly captured my heart.
