It’s time for South Jersey’s esteemed commissioner, Seth, to talk about his baby: the “I-295” Fantasy Football League. If you know, you know…but who are we kidding? Why would anyone know about our very own friend group’s fantasy football league?!

This week it’s Seth’s world and the listeners and Bri are just living in it. This week we discuss a much more niche topic than usual. Cairn University (the school Seth and Bri attended) announced the closing of the school of social work in May. The decision felt abrupt and poorly executed to many current social work students as well as alumni. Lizzie Walker, Cairn U Social Work ‘18, joins us to discuss the storyline, history, and takeaways. We hope this can be somewhat of a one stop shop for you to learn about what’s been going on with Cairn Social Work.

Why do we care about this? Why is it important to us? Cairn U’s mission statement reads, “Cairn University exists to educate students to serve Christ in the church, society, and the world as biblically minded, well-educated, and professionally competent men and women of character.”  Social work fits into that mission just as well as anything else. The program was started in 1965 and Cairn was among the first schools accredited on the baccalaureate level by the Council on Social Work Education in 1974.

Cairn students, individuals in the social work profession, and evangelical university students, alike will find interest in this episode!

Welcome a very special guest and friend of the hosts, Laurel Soffer, to the podcast! Laurel gives us the rundown on vocal health and why it is so important off and on the stage.

Why? Laurel has received a Bachelor of Music: Vocal Performance in Jazz Studies from University of The Arts and a Master of Music: CCM Vocal Pedagogy from Shenandoah University. So, yeah, she’s pretty legit.
