In today's Western society thanksgiving has become rare. And when it does emerge, usually it is faint and in context to us getting what we want while giving credit to ourselves. Complaint has always been the leading trend in our present culture and continues to validate itself with greater ease.

Since the beginning of humanity it has been in God's heart to anchor the human heart in His goodness, which beckons humility and righteousness unto salvation. And His goodness culminates at the Day of the Lord where He makes all things new and restores. No matter what the situation or circumstance, our contentment and thanks should be anchored in that.
